Step by step
Install the chat on Wix
Add the chat code to your Wix site from its settings, under Custom Code, for all pages, and check it on the published site.

On Wix you install the chat from the site’s settings, in the custom code section: you paste your agent’s line of code, choose to load it on all pages, at the end of the page body, and apply it. The editor is not involved. There is no iAgentify app in the Wix App Market, and you do not need one.
Before you start
- The agent has to be active. An agent that is a Draft or is Paused does not show the chat even when the code is in place. Switch it on with the Activate button (or Resume, if it was paused) on the agent’s page.
- Your Wix site has to accept custom code. When this article was written (October 2026), Wix only allowed adding it on sites with a paid plan and a connected domain. If the option is missing or locked, check the Wix help.
- You need access to the site’s settings. The site owner has it, and so does a person with a role that allows changing them.
Copy your agent’s code
In iAgentify, go to Agents and open your agent.
Open the Widget tab and, inside it, Installation.
Under Installation code, press Copy. It is a single line, like this one:
<script src="https://backendiagentify.yarqat.com/widget.js" data-agent="your-agent-key" async></script>
Always copy the one in the app, not the one in this article: yours carries your agent’s public key. There is more detail in install the chat on your website.
Paste it into Wix’s custom code
The names of the options can change a little with the language and version of your Wix, so each step also says what you are looking for.
Go to your site’s dashboard in Wix and open Settings.
In the advanced options section, open Custom Code. It is the place where Wix lets you add code to the whole site.
Press Add Custom Code, the button that adds a new piece of code.
Paste the chat line into the code box.
Type a name you will recognise later, for example
iAgentify chat.In the option that sets which pages the code is added to, choose All pages and, with it, Load code once. Wix moves from one page to another without reloading the site, so once is enough.
In the option that sets where the code is placed, choose the end of the page body (Body - end). It is the same as pasting it before
</body>.Press Apply.
Check that it works
Open your published site in a private browser window. Look at it at its real address, not in the editor or the preview.
The chat button appears in a bottom corner of the page. Press it.
Type a question. The reply arrives within seconds and the conversation shows up under Conversations, inside the app.
That test is a real conversation: it uses credits and counts in your analytics.
Common problems on Wix
- You are looking at the editor or the preview. The Wix editor and preview do not usually run custom code. If the site is not published yet, publish it and look at it at its address.
- The chat only appears after cookies are accepted. When you add the code, Wix lets you say what type it is: essential, functional, analytics or advertising. If you use the Wix cookie banner, code that is not marked as essential waits until the visitor accepts that category. Check which type the chat code has and choose the one that matches your cookie policy.
- You pasted it into an HTML element in the editor. The editor’s element for embedding HTML puts the code in a box isolated from the rest of the page: the chat would be shut inside it, and only on that page. Use Custom Code.
- The code was added twice. Nothing breaks: the second copy does nothing. If the two lines belong to different agents, only one is loaded, so keep only the line of the agent you want.
Add your domain to the allowed domains
While the Allowed domains list is empty, any website that copies your line of code can load your chat and use up your credits. Under Agents › your agent › Widget › Installation › Allowed domains, type your site’s domain, press Add and then Save changes. A domain such as yourcompany.com also includes www.yourcompany.com.
If your site is seen at a free Wix address, of the kind yourname.wixsite.com/your-site, add only the domain part: yourname.wixsite.com. Do not use a wildcard such as *.wixsite.com, which would let any Wix site use your chat. At an address that is not on the list the chat does not appear. The details are in limit the chat to your domains.
If the chat does not appear
On Wix the most common causes are looking at the editor or the preview instead of the published site, or the cookie banner holding the code back. Then check that the agent is active and that your domain is under Allowed domains. The full list, with how to check each cause, is in the chat does not appear on your website.
