Install the chat on Webflow
Paste the chat code into your Webflow site’s settings, under Custom code › Footer code, publish the site and check that the chat appears.

On Webflow you install the chat from the site’s settings, in the custom code tab: you paste your agent’s line of code into the Footer code box, save and publish the site. Until you publish, the chat does not reach your website.
Before you start
- The agent has to be active. An agent that is a Draft or is Paused does not show the chat even when the code is in place. Switch it on with the Activate button (or Resume, if it was paused) on the agent’s page.
- Your Webflow site has to accept custom code. When this article was written (October 2026), Webflow kept it for sites with a paid site plan or workspaces with a paid plan. If the box appears locked, check the Webflow help.
- You need to be able to change the site’s settings and publish it. If your role in Webflow does not allow it, pass the code and this article to someone who can.
Webflow’s menus are given here in English, which is how they normally appear.
Copy your agent’s code
In iAgentify, go to Agents and open your agent.
Open the Widget tab and, inside it, Installation.
Under Installation code, press Copy. It is a single line, like this one:
<script src="https://backendiagentify.yarqat.com/widget.js" data-agent="your-agent-key" async></script>
Always copy the one in the app, not the one in this article: yours carries your agent’s public key. There is more detail in install the chat on your website.
Paste it into the site settings
In Webflow, open your site’s settings (Site settings).
Open the Custom code tab. It is the place where Webflow lets you add code to every page.
Scroll down to Footer code. It is the box that adds the code before
</body>.Paste the chat line. If the box already holds other code, paste it on a new line without deleting what is there.
Save the changes on that screen.
Press Publish and choose the domains you want to publish the site to.
Check that it works
Open your published site in a private browser window. Look at it at its real address, not in the Designer: custom code does not run there.
The chat button appears in a bottom corner of the page. Press it.
Type a question. The reply arrives within seconds and the conversation shows up under Conversations, inside the app.
That test is a real conversation: it uses credits and counts in your analytics.
Common problems on Webflow
- You saved but did not publish. Press Publish again and check that your domain is among the ones chosen.
- You are looking at the Designer. Custom code does not run while you design. Open the published site.
- The box is locked. Most likely neither the site nor the workspace has a plan that includes custom code. Check it in the Webflow help.
- You only want the chat on some pages. In that case do not use Footer code. Each page’s settings have their own custom code section, with a box for before
</body>: paste the line there, on each page that should carry the chat, and publish. - The code is pasted twice. If it is in the site settings and also on a page, nothing breaks: the second copy does nothing. If the two lines belong to different agents, only one is loaded, so keep only the line of the agent you want.
Add your domains to the allowed domains
While the Allowed domains list is empty, any website that copies your line of code can load your chat and use up your credits. Under Agents › your agent › Widget › Installation › Allowed domains, type your site’s domain, press Add and then Save changes. A domain such as yourcompany.com also includes www.yourcompany.com.
If you also publish to the Webflow address, or your site does not have its own domain yet, add that full address, for example your-site.webflow.io. Do not use a wildcard such as *.webflow.io, which would let any Webflow site use your chat. At an address that is not on the list the chat does not appear. The details are in limit the chat to your domains.
If the chat does not appear
On Webflow the most common causes are that the change is saved but not published, or that the site was not published to your domain. Then check that the agent is active and that your domain is under Allowed domains. The full list, with how to check each cause, is in the chat does not appear on your website.
